Lush Canopy is a hand-painted botanical oil painting built around a broad crown of foliage and the dark branching structure of a mature tree. The horizontal format gives the image room to spread across the wall, while an opening of warm light near the centre draws the eye through the dense green canopy. Rather than presenting isolated flowers or a formal botanical study, the painting focuses on the sensation of looking upward through layered leaves.

The palette moves through deep forest green, olive, moss and fresh yellow-green. Darker passages define the trunk and interlacing branches, while small pale marks suggest sunlight breaking through gaps in the leaves. Warm cream and muted gold around the central opening keep the composition from becoming uniformly dark. These light accents also create a useful visual path from the upper centre toward the lower areas of foliage.

Visible brushwork is an important part of the surface. Short, overlapping marks build the leaf clusters, and broader strokes give weight to the branches and lower canopy.
